Use an ultrasonic cleaning machine in flat glass processing

Return

Flat glass is used in many flat-screen products and its processing depends on various manufacturing steps such as applying coatings, adding semiconductor functions, and special treatment of the glass. The manufacturing process usually leaves a processing residue, and the glass itself absorbs dirt and contaminants from the shop environment. The flat glass must be cleaned thoroughly before further processing. Traditional cleaning methods that use irritating chemicals or mechanical scrubbing are slow, labor-intensive, and must safely handle cleaning solutions. The industrial ultrasonic cleaning machines used in these applications use only mild detergents, can be quickly and thoroughly cleaned, and are safe for the environment.

Ultrasonic cleaning of cutting glass plate

Before any further work can be done, the glass must be cut, the edges polished and the corners rounded. The resulting flat glass panel having the desired shape and size can then be subjected to additional processing and machining. Cutting and polishing may leave glass particles on the finished sheet, and the sheet may become contaminated with contaminants as a result of gripping and handling.

Ultrasonic cleaning machines can remove all particles and pollutants, such as grease or workshop dust. The cleaning process uses an Ultrasonic transducer to produce ultrasonic waves and tiny cavitation bubbles in bathtubs containing ordinary water or mild cleaning agents. The creation of bubbles creates a strong scrubbing action that removes particles and contaminants from the glass surface. Bubbles appear anywhere the cleaning fluid can penetrate, and cleaning is done quickly, thoroughly, and on all surfaces.

Clean machined or coated panels

Once the flat glass panels are cut to the right size and cleaned, additional processing steps can be added to color or polarizing filters, liquid crystal display, or chip applications on the glass. For each of these process steps, a clean glass surface is essential. If contaminants or particles are present, the filter will not form properly or adhere to the glass. Stray particles on the surface of the flat glass can cause bad spots in LCDs and may inhibit the normal operation of semiconductor components on the chip on the glass. Any pollution will reduce the quality and service life of the final glass panel products.

Although the glass panels need to be cleaned at each process step, the actual cleaning requirements may vary. For rough cleaning and removal of heavy contamination of the glass itself, the strong cleaning effect of a low-frequency ultrasonic system may be appropriate. For chip cleaning requirements on filter coatings and glass, it may be necessary to provide a high-frequency system that is mildly clean without damaging the precision film and components. For specific contaminants, mild detergents used to dissolve contaminated materials can speed up the cleaning process, while a heated ultrasonic bath can help remove materials that soften at high temperatures.
